Last Wednesday I went to the Conference room @St.George TAFE to Celebrate Harmony Day 2011.
Harmony Day is when we come together to learn and understand  each other. We celebrated with all of class in TAFE,we shared our experiences and listened to singing from another country and also we shared  food. The food was delicious!

We also raised money for the Japan Earthquake and Tsunami. We donated a gold coin or notes for a Japanese origami bird. Then we ate the delicious food and drank juice or water while we chatted or took pictures in the Conference room.

After that we spent a short time taking other pictures with all the friends in class room and  the Harmony day background Banners.

Finally I returns  happily to home and continued to do household chores,,,LOL!!!!

HARMONY DAY 2011

Harmony Day is held on the 21st March. Harmony Day is the day were we come together to learn and understand how Australians of different backgrounds live in Harmony.
It's breadth and balance of cultures is what is unique about Australia. There are over 260 languages including indigenous languages and we identify with 270 ancestries.
What unites us is acceptance of cultural diversity, mutual respect of one another and by our democratic traditions.
Everyone Belongs is the key message of harmony Day.This  means all Australians are a welcome part of our country, regardless of their background.
We must continue to work together to encourage participation, inclusiveness and respect for all community members.

Counselling at TAFE

Two weeks ago Luisa came to the class and she talked about her job.
Luisa is a Counsellor. She's one of four counsellors at St.George College of TAFE.
She gives advice to students with regard to career planning, education and personal issues.
If the Counsellor can't help the student they will to have a look at services in the Community where we can get support.
She provided information about going to University and following  a  pathway.
